Ting-Chung Poon is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech, Virginia, USA. His current research interests include 3-D image processing, and optical scanning holography (OSH). Dr. Poon is the author of the monograph Optical Scanning Holography with MATLAB (Springer, 2007), and is the co-author of, among other textbooks, Introduction to Modern Digital Holography with MATLAB (Cambridge University Press, 2014). He is also Editor of the book Digital Holography and Three-Dimensional Display (Springer, 2006). Dr. Poon served as Division Editor of Applied Optics from 2008 to 2014, and was Associate Editor-in-Chief of Chinese Optics Letters. Currently, he is Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, and Editor of Applied Sciences. Dr. Poon is the founding Chair of the Optical Society (OSA) topical meeting Digital holography and 3-D imaging (2007). He was a Chair of the OSA Emmett N. Leith Medal Committee and a member of the OSA Joseph Fraunhofer Award/Robert Burley Prize Committee.
Dr. Poon is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Institute of Physics (IOP), the Optical Society (OSA), and the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE). He received the 2016 Dennis Gabor Award of the SPIE for “pioneering contributions to optical scanning holography (OSH), which has contributed significantly to the development of novel digital holography and 3-D imaging.”
Dr. Poon was a Visiting Professor for Senior International Scientists at the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Science, a Visiting Professor at Shizuoka University (Hamamatsu, Japan), Nihon University (Japan), National Taiwan Normal University (Taiwan), Zhejiang Normal University (China), and City University of Hong Kong (China). Currently he is a Distinguished Chair Professor of Feng Chia University (Taiwan). He is also an Adjunct Professor at National Central University (Taiwan) and Shanghai University (China).

Dr. Xu is a Professor in National Lab of Pattern Recognition, Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Executive Director of China-Singapore Institute of Digital Media. His research interests include multimedia content analysis/indexing/retrieval, pattern recognition and computer vision. He has hold 30 granted/pending patents and published over 200 refereed research papers in these areas. Dr. Xu is an Associate Editor of IEEE Trans. on Multimedia, ACM Trans. on Multimedia Computing, Communications and Applications and ACM/Springer Multimedia Systems Journal. He received the Best Associate Editor Award of ACM Trans. on Multimedia Computing, Communications and Applications in 2012 and the Best Editorial Member Award of ACM/Springer Multimedia Systems Journal in 2008. He served as Program Chair of ACM Multimedia 2009. He has served as associate editor, guest editor, general chair, program chair, area/track chair, special session organizer, session chair and TPC member for over 20 IEEE and ACM prestigious multimedia journals, conferences and workshops. He is an ACM Distinguished Scientist, IEEE Fellow, and IAPR Fellow.

Dr. Jenq-Neng Hwang received the BS and MS degrees, both in electrical engineering from the National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 1981 and 1983 separately. He then received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Southern California. In the summer of 1989, Dr. Hwang joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) of the University of Washington in Seattle, where he has been promoted to Full Professor since 1999. He served as the Associate Chair for Research from 2003 to 2005, and from 2011-2015. He is currently the Associate Chair for Global Affairs and International Development in the ECE Department. He is the founder and co-director of the Information Processing Lab., which has won several AI City Challenges awards in the past years. He has written more than 350 journal, conference papers and book chapters in the areas of machine learning, multimedia signal processing, computer vision, and multimedia system integration and networking, including an authored textbook on "Multimedia Networking: from Theory to Practice," published by Cambridge University Press. Dr. Hwang has close working relationship with the industry on artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Dr. Hwang received the 1995 IEEE Signal Processing Society's Best Journal Paper Award. He is a founding member of Multimedia Signal Processing Technical Committee of IEEE Signal Processing Society and was the Society's representative to IEEE Neural Network Council from 1996 to 2000. He is currently a member of Multimedia Technical Committee (MMTC) of IEEE Communication Society and also a member of Multimedia Signal Processing Technical Committee (MMSP TC) of IEEE Signal Processing Society. He served as associate editors for IEEE T-SP, T-NN and T-CSVT, T-IP and Signal Processing Magazine(SPM). He is currently on the editorial board of ZTE Communications, ETRI, IJDMB and JSPS journals. He sserved as the Program Co-Chair of IEEE ICME 2016 and was the Program Co-Chairs of ICASSP 1998 and ISCAS 2009. Dr. Hwang is a fellow of IEEE since 2001.

He is an Academic Supervisor at the University of Warwick, UK and held various academic and professional positions with many years of experience in the United Kingdom and Internationally
He has achieved good collaboration with multicultural SMEs in the United Kingdom, with respect to mentoring and working on joint professional development on ICT enterprise programmes. He has experience of doctoral research supervision and consultancy as well as doctoral external examiner for various Universities both in the UK and internationally on Information Risk Management and applicable computing in Smart Cities and Healthcare.
He has a good research profile and the Founding Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Green Computing (IJGC), Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Computing and Digital Systems (IJCDS), Journal of E-Technology, and the Associate Editor of the International Journal of E-Politics and the Associate Editor of International Journal of Distributed Systems and Technologies (IJDST)
